🔴 HOW DOES OWNERSHIP TRANSFER WORK?

The Transfer Process

Ownership transfer is done via the red transfer QR code, delivered as a separate 3D-printed card with your jewelry:

1. Scan red QR code: The current owner scans the red QR code on the 3D-printed card
2. Transfer page opens: You'll be redirected to the special transfer page
3. Enter new owner: Enter the name of the new owner
4. Confirm security warning: A clear dialog warns you that this action is FINAL
5. Complete transfer: After confirmation:
   • The new owner is stored in the blockchain
   • The current red QR code becomes invalid
   • A new red QR code is automatically generated

What are the two QR code cards?

Each KiezForm jewelry piece comes with two separate 3D-printed QR code cards:

🔵 Black QR Code (Verification)

• Used for ownership verification
• Can be scanned unlimited times
• Shows the current owner
• Confirms product authenticity
• Can be safely shared

🔴 Red QR Code (Transfer)

• Enables ownership transfer
• ONE-TIME use per transfer
• Automatically renewed after transfer
• NEVER lose - otherwise no transfer possible!
• Keep safe like a private key

What happens if QR code cards are lost?

Loss of black QR code (Verification)

The loss is not critical. You can:

• Request a new card from support (€10 fee)
• Verify via serial number
• Use the blockchain explorer for verification

Loss of red QR code (Transfer) - CRITICAL!

This is a serious problem!

• ❌ No independent ownership transfer possible

• 🔒 Proof of identity required (receipt, serial number)
• ⏰ Processing time: 3-5 business days
• 💰 Cost: €25 for recovery + new card
• 🚨 Multiple security checks necessary

Why are the QR codes separate cards?

• Flexibility: Codes can be stored independently from jewelry
• Security: Red transfer code can be kept in a safe
• Practicality: Easy scanning without wearing the jewelry
• Replaceability: Card can be reprinted if damaged
• Gifts: Transfer card can be handed over separately

Security features of the new system

• Instant transfer: No 24h waiting period
• Blockchain verification: Every transfer is immutably stored
• Automatic QR renewal: New code after each transfer
• Clear warnings: Confirmation dialog before final actions
• One-time codes: Each red QR code works only once

Can a transfer be reversed?

NO! Once the transfer is confirmed:

• The transfer is FINAL
• Immediately stored in the blockchain
• CANNOT be cancelled
• Only a back-transfer by the new owner is possible

Best practices for QR code cards

Storage

• 🔵 Black QR code: With product documents
• 🔴 Red QR code: In safe or secure location
• 📸 Photo of red code only store encrypted
• 🚫 Never store both codes together

When selling/gifting

• ✅ First perform transfer, then hand over red code
• ✅ Inform new owner about importance of red code
• ✅ Check transfer confirmation in blockchain
• ✅ Include black code for verification
